The word Ascendia originated from the word Ascend which means to move upward, to soar or to move to a better position in life.
We chose this name because it best represents the vision we have for providing a unique approach and we carry that theme throughout our practice by committing to bring every one of our clients and users to a better Insurance position.

I have lived in Sarasota for 12 years . As a former corporate executive with International experience I have learned and adapted to the needs of many different nationalities.
My working philosophy is always to put the needs of the client first and to provide solutions based on their needs.
I previously worked for a major insurance carrier as an agent, district sales manager, corporate trainer.
In addition to holding my property and casualty license (2-20) I also hold a life license (2-15) I have obtained my Chartered Life Underwriter designation (CLU) and my Chartered Financial Consultant designation (ChFC)
I also hold a Florida Real Estate license.
I have lived and worked in Sarasota for over 20 years. As a former corporate executive, I recognize the importance of accountability and a strong work ethic. The skill and experience I have acquired over the years helps make every transaction a pleasure for my clients. Achieving your objective is the beginning of a successful partnership, not the end.
I truly believe in giving back to my community and have served as a board member for 4 local organizations as well as currently volunteer at 2 local charities. My service with these organizations and their respective community leaders has broadened my understanding of Sarasota’s past, present and future, another great asset to my clients.

Andrew Olwert is a graduate of Florida State University with a major in Risk Management and Insurance.
He has over 30 years of business management and development experience having worked for major insurance companies, regulators, commercial insurance agencies and as an entrepreneur.
In 1995, Mr. Olwert founded Unisource Administrators and built it into a highly successful and respected 40 million dollar enterprise consisting of a Third Party Claims Administration Company, a Managing General Agency and a Managed Care Company.
In addition, Mr. Olwert is a pioneer in the areas of claims administration, managed care, cost containment and the implementation of performance based cultures within MGA’s and Carriers.
